looking to become a foster parent

Question:

It has been my experience that most kids that are in foster are older. Do you have any experience with teenagers.  They are difficult under the best of circumstances and darn near impossible under foster circumstances.  Fostering is very rewarding when everything goes right. The most important thing is to have a supportive caseworker.  The relationship between you and your caseworker is almost like that between a husband and wife.  The kids will try to play one against the other. When our kids call the caseworker to complain, he just tells them to talk to us.  Then he will call us and tell us what th complaint is.  But he lets us handle it.  Good luck with your venture.  Hope everything works out for you.

Response:

Hello: well i have been searching the internet all day exploring the options in foster care.  It is something that looks like it would be rewarding and challenging. I work now with infants at a day care and have been working with all sorts of children all my life.  My husband is very supportive.  I am just looking for people to talk to about it to make sure this is right.  thanks Hallie
