Losing a neighbor

Question:

A very sweet little neighbor boy named Terrell likes to walk with sud and me on our evening walks. He’s really a nice little guy, entering third grade this fall. Tonight he asked if he could hold the leash, and I told him I worry that Spud’ll pull away from him.  Then h said it would be his last chance to walk Spud, cuz he’s moving.  I was really surprised by this, and asked where he was going, etc. He said he’s with a foster family (I didn’t realize this) and "the government" is making him go to a new home. "They do this all the time", he said.  "It’s cuz I don’t ahve a mom.  Lots of kids don’t have dads, but when you don’t have a mom they just keep giving you different houses all the time." Kinda broke my heart.

:/ that really sucks… poor kid… how’s he supposed to have any kind of continuity in his life, make close friends, relationships with adult figures, teachers, etc, if he keeps moving? it sounds like he really bonded with you… i’m sorry for both of you that he’s being torn from that :/ (((((lisa))))) – yacov ~~~ icq: 32531626 — For info about this service, see http://www.twwells.com/anon/ or e-mail:
