False Allegations
Question:
We have had false allegations made against us too. You are ALL alone with concerns of the agency, or atleast that’s what we experienced. I hope you have documented everything well. That was our savior. Becuase we had documented eveyrthing so well that when they contronted the child with what she had said and what we had given as our version of what happened she just started to grin. We were cleared after five months but we just recently had a homestudy done for adopting and what do you know, that whole sitation was in there. It’s on our permanent record for the rest of our lives. Even though we were cleared. Try contating your local chapter of the National Foster parent association or your state chapter. Most of them have allegation support. You can contact me by email too if you need an ear or whatever. Good Luck and Keep your chin up. Response:
no good advise yet but we are in the same type of situation. we have kept a journal with everyone we have spoken to and what was said, and am now drafting a letter to the governor of our state. i am also thinking of contacting an investigating reporter to look into the policy that makes foster parents the scape goat for the agencys lack of organization. they seem to react to problems by covering their tails, instead of taking a proactive approach to problems that are caused by the way the system is set up. good luck to you.

Has anyone had any personal experience with how to deal with false allegations? We are currently dealing with this nightmare ourselves and feel like we are out there by ourselves with no support. We have been foster parents for over three years and have never had any complaints. We were regarded as awesome foster parents by our agency but now because of the allegations they have abandon us. We always knew that allegations are part of the territory for foster parents you of course learn this in Mapp class., but you should be able to get a fair chance to explain your side of the story. In our situation the child was believed from day one and it was over a month before we had a chance to defend ourselves and at that time we felt that it did not make any difference because the child’s story was so convincing. With this allegation being extremely serious I would of expected there to be evidence there and also a thorough investigation instead of just the child’s statement. They choose to ignore the child’s history which included previous false allegations. Please respond if you have any good advise.
